The United Nations has warned that the Mexican government was failing in its efforts to keep journalists safe and prosecute crimes against them, after officials toured Mexican regions that are among the worlds most dangerous for reporters.  According to the U.N, although Mexico instituted a federal prosecutor in 2006 to investigate crimes against journalists, no prosecutions have been brought or no perpetrators of crime against journalists have been apprehended.
