The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) briefed members of Parliament today that Eskom is technically insolvent and will cease to exist at current trajectories by April 2019. The news follows remarks by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Rob Davies, who said yesterday that Eskom is in deep trouble… financially and operationally.  Davies added that impending announcements will show that the government is serious on Eskom and ready to take some tough decisions.
