The Jordanian government has vowed to forge ahead with the Red Sea-Dead Sea Water Conveyance Project despite Israel’s threat to drop it in a bid to pressure Jordan to accept the return of Israel’s diplomats. Israel was forced to close its embassy in Jordan and withdraw its staff in July after two Jordanians were killed in a shooting incident at the Israeli embassy complex in Amman, leaving one embassy staff severely injured.
