A showdown is looming at the Hawks with ousted head Berning Ntlemeza refusing to vacate his position. The police ministry says if Berning Ntlemeza tries to forcefully occupy the top office today, legal action will have to be taken. Last week the High Court in Pretoria ruled that Ntlemeza be removed immediately as the Hawks boss. However according to a report in the City Press, Ntlemeza says he will not vacate the position, saying only Parliament can fire him. At the same time, Police Minister Fikile Mbalula says he has fulfilled his legal obligation by firing Ntlemeza.
