The ANC has hit back following the failed motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma, saying it’s been vindicated. The party’s chief whip, Jackson Mthembu, says the move by the opposition exposes what the ANC has always stated, that the motion of no confidence is not about President Zuma but an attempt at regime change through Parliament. Zuma told a cheering crowd that the opposition pumps propaganda through media saying the ANC is no longer supported by the people. He also added that the ANC remains untouchable. Meanwhile, EFF leader, Julius Malema, told the crowds gathered outside parliament that it is the first time in history the ANC supported opposition parties in a motion against Zuma. Had Zuma lost, he and his entire cabinet would have had to step down.
