The Vaal dam’s water levels have dropped, raising concerns that it will soon float below the 50% mark, as the country enters its dry winter season. The Department of Water and Sanitation has called on water users in Gauteng to use water responsibly as the dam supplies water to households and businesses. The department also reminded water users that to ward off the virus, water is vitally important. Presently, the dam sits at 50.6%, down from 51.3%, last week. Other dams alongside the Vaal Dam in the Integrated Vaal River System -- the Grootdraai and Sterkfontein have also seen a slight decline in levels this week.
