UNESCO said it will take "several hundred million dollars" to restore Beirut's heritage damaged by the explosion of the port on August 4th. The UN's culture and education body will organise two conferences to seek "considerable" funding for blast-hit Beirut, its director said on Thursday in the Lebanese capital. This comes after a visit to a school damaged in the colossal August 4th explosion at Beirut's port. The two events in the works, include a fundraising event for Beirut's heritage, during which UNESCO would seek hundreds of millions of dollars.
