Another payment from government has been announced for the embattled national carrier, South Africa Airways which, Finance Minister Tito Mboweni said will be “used to implement the business rescue plan. Mboweni however stressed that the funds were "not a bailout" but rather part of the responsibilities that the government has as a shareholder in the airline. The cash-strapped airline was placed under a state-approved administration in December following years of mismanagement and rising debt. The payment is reportedly funded through cuts in spending elsewhere in other public entities.
